“No Vote, No Condolences!” – Minister Baryomunsi’s Wife Sparks Uproar with Bold Remarks

The public is in shock after the wife of the Minister of Information and National Guidance, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, Fosca Twebaze, informed attendees at an event that they would not receive assistance or even sympathy from him if they did not cast their votes for him. It is important to mention that Baryomunsi has been the MP for Kinkizi East since 2016 and is campaigning for a third term, with his wife actively supporting his election efforts.

However, her recent comments astonished many due to their delivery style. She stated that people should understand that nothing is given without a cost. Even those who offer them monetary gifts in an attempt to undermine her husband have ulterior motives.

She further argued that citizens need to put in more effort if they wish to receive care from the Minister and their local MP. This is because there are individuals in the community who can identify those who support and oppose Baryomunsi.

Thus, anyone who is supportive and puts in the effort will ultimately be recognized and rewarded by the Minister. She subsequently highlighted that they have already extended condolences to nearly all families in the region who have experienced recent losses.

Moreover, she expressed that it is time they also prioritize those who vote for them. Those who do not can seek support elsewhere, as they are exhausted from investing in those who do not yield returns.

“I have to tell you that nothing is given for nothing – everything must be earned. Even those who offer you money have expectations in return; they seek something from you. But I assure you, no one possesses more resources than the Minister. Therefore, if you work hard and support him, we have local leaders who will recognize your efforts and bring you to his attention for rewards. You’ve seen how we have been sending condolences to nearly everyone who has lost loved ones recently. Therefore, it’s essential that we also support our constituents who vote for us; if you choose not to vote, there’s no way we can assist you,” she stated.

This has caused many to react strongly, as numerous individuals believe that leaders should serve their constituents regardless of political beliefs or voting preferences. However, this behavior is not unprecedented, as it is widely recognized that politics often operates on favoritism at various levels globally.
