Uganda Steals the Show at Toronto’s World Travel, Trade, and Taste Expo 2025

Uganda has made an unforgettable first impression at the World Travel, Trade, and Taste Expo 2025 in Toronto, Canada. From day one, Uganda’s vibrant booth became a crowd favorite, leaving visitors inspired, intrigued, and eager to explore “The Pearl of Africa.”

The aroma of freshly brewed organic Ugandan coffee drew thousands to the booth, where lucky visitors received free samples of roasted beans. Paired with tastings of Uganda Waragi, the country’s signature gin, the experience offered a rich taste of Uganda’s culture and hospitality.

Tourists were captivated not only by the flavors but also by the stunning visuals of Uganda’s landscapes—ranging from misty mountains to lush national parks. Handmade wristbands and warm, authentic Ugandan smiles made the experience even more personal.

Adding a sparkle of elegance and charm, Janet Anzoa, Miss Tourism Commonwealth Africa 🇺🇬, shared heartfelt stories about Uganda’s natural beauty and cultural heritage. One Canadian tourist, clearly impressed, said, “I’ve never heard of Uganda before, but I’ll definitely be adding it to my travel plans this year.”

Uganda’s delegation included proud private sector champions like Churchill Safaris and 707 Safaris, who used the platform to build networks, seal partnerships, and position Uganda as a must-visit destination for North American travelers.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Jimmy Kigozi, Acting Commissioner at the Ministry of Tourism, emphasized:

“Uganda is the right product. Now we need the right team, tools, and targets.”

Uganda’s High Commissioner to Canada, Ambassador Allan Kajik, highlighted the country’s political stability and tourism-friendly policies under President Yoweri Museveni, saying they are key to attracting Canadian interest.

In a powerful cultural moment, Agnes Birungi, dressed in a striking blue gomesi, shared her deep passion for Uganda with curious Canadians—many of whom were learning about the country for the very first time.

This marks Uganda’s debut at the World Travel, Trade, and Taste Expo—and it is already being celebrated as a major success. With deals signed, partnerships formed, and travelers inspired, Uganda has officially made its mark on Canada’s tourism radar.
