In a significant move to improve public health and living conditions, over 2,000 residents of Miyora I, Miyora II, and Rwebikwato II villages in Kamwenge District will soon have access to clean, safe water. The initiative, which is valued at Shs107 million, is being funded by Join For Water and implemented by Joint Efforts to Save the Environment (JESE). For years, the local population has had to rely on unsafe water sources, which posed serious health risks.
The new piped water system, set to serve more than 2,000 people, is expected to dramatically reduce waterborne diseases in the region. The project will deliver clean water to the residents, improving both hygiene and overall quality of life. Upon completion, the system will be handed over to the National Water and Sewerage Corporation for management, ensuring long-term sustainability.
