Ugandan president H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has given a resounding warning to the European Parliament over Ugandan oil.
While addressing the 7th Annual Uganda International Oil and Gas Summit (UIOGS) at Kampala Seren Hotel yesterday 27th September 2022, Museveni reiterated that the oil exploration schedule will go on undeterred.
The President further said that some of the lawmakers in the European Parliament are too extreme to bear.
Besides, these are so wrong to think that they know whatever goes on in Africa and have a right to comment about it.
Museveni then said that this is the wrong battle ground for them to mess around with.
He then asked the country’s partners in this oil exploration process to join them and fight against this imperialism.
Museveni added that the EU has a lot of work to do in their respective countries. They should therefore calm down and attend to the problems in their own Continent other than meddling in Africa.
The President in his address also said that some of these EU makers are just young girls and boys who have never been to Africa.
He therefore wonders why and what they want to lecture the indigenous people about on how to run their business.
A few weeks ago the EU Parliament ordered Uganda to stop the EACOP project as soon as possible.
They cited humann rights and environmental concerns as the reason to why this project had to be halted.
However, it has raised a number of mixed reactions amongst the public, politicians and the the entire globe.
Whereas a few support the EU resolution, many are in objection towards it.
