Public left heartbroken and dismayed over school serving awful food to pupils (video)

The public has been left in dismay and heartbreak over a video making rounds on social media. This showed learners of barely 10 years being served sickening food.

These were being given posho and beans. Yes I know you are wondering what is wrong with these since its the staple food for most schools but the sauce was unbecoming.

It was entirely water and some of the pupils barely got beans or got just like three seeds. Besides, it was being served from a plastic bucket that appeared unhygienic.

This had different people reacting to this video and the entire education system in the country.

“Mwana wa maama Uganda bweyatuka tuyina kwesabira.”

“Parents should try to fellow up how schools are treating their children not just a matter of sending your child to school and you think they are handling him or her well.”

“Leave the plastics aside look @ posho served with warm water.”

“Parents should be ashamed of taking kids to such schools. It’s important you sit down with your kids every night and talk to them, have them tell you about their school and everything.”

“This is not soup, it’s warm coloured water. Oh God bambi these innocent souls.”

“This is so heart breaking, why give such kind of food to such young kids,by God’s grace my children will not go to such schools.”

The relevant authorities are yet to come out over this incident but this is what most learners go through. After paying fees which is at times hefty, they are fed like dogs.

The school authorities at times too can be excused since the funds maybe less yet parents default and yet the commodities are high. The government should therefore come up with a comprehensive feeding program especially for learners below 10 or in primary schools.
