Professor Kilian Songwe has congratulated President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni upon his swearing-in for another five-year term as President of Uganda, describing the occasion as a reflection of national pride and stability.
In a congratulatory statement issued on behalf of A Global Healthcare Public Foundation and its staff, Prof. Songwe joined Ugandans in recognizing President Museveni’s continued leadership as he officially commenced his seventh term in office.
The swearing-in ceremony was indeed a colorful and excellently staged event that ran seamlessly on time, reflecting the dignity and pride of the nation,” Prof. Songwe said.
He further praised President Museveni’s leadership approach, particularly in the area of healthcare and national development, highlighting what he described as the President’s creativity, courage, and foresight in addressing Uganda’s health sector challenges.
According to Prof. Songwe, the President has demonstrated
creativity in addressing complex health challenges, courage in making bold investments in the health sector, and masterful foresight in prioritizing the well-being of Ugandans.”
The remarks come at a time when Uganda continues to focus on strengthening healthcare systems, expanding access to medical services, and driving socio-economic transformation across different sectors.
Prof. Songwe also reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to supporting Uganda’s development agenda, particularly in improving healthcare outcomes and promoting national well-being.

President Museveni’s swearing-in ceremony attracted regional leaders, diplomats, government officials, and thousands of Ugandans in a colorful national event marked by military displays, cultural performances, and official state proceedings.
