With the recent exodus of young Ugandan footballers to Europe, Uganda Premier League side KCCA FC has surely benefited from this development.
Following the transfer of striker Sadat Anaku to Scottish Premier League side Dundee United, another youngster in Ibrahim Juma has left for a top Spanish side.
Credible sources have it that Juma signed for Segunda side, Club Deportivo Leganes.
This is after this deal became possible due to the partnership between Rainbow Sports and EA Eye.
Juma was promoted to the senior KCCA side in the 2021-22 season.
He made 4 appearances in which he all started registering one goal and one assist in these games.
Its fair to say that the youngster made an instant impact.
This transfer makes him the second Ugandan to play in Spanish football after David ‘Colgate’ Owori who signed for Velez Club de Futbol from SC Villa in March 2021.
Whereas Leganes play in the Segunda, Spain’s second tier league, Velez plays in the Segunda Federacion which is Spain’s fourth division.
