NBS TV journalist Simon Kaggwa Njala brands Ugandan politicians dimwits

The word dimwit has become quite a phenomenon on Ugandan social media especially on Twitter and can be credited to author Kakwenza Rukira.

This refers to a stupid or silly person and that’s exactly what NBS TV Morning Breeze show host Simon Kaggwa Njala referred to Ugandan politicians as.

Taking to a tweet of his coworker Samson Kasumba saying that if his name ever appears on a ballot paper, they should call a psychiatrist for him, Simon said that Kasumba doest have the political grit.

This saw Minister of Information Dr Chris Baryomunsi take to Simon’s comment to wonder if one becomes stupid after winning an election or if its stupid people that stand for elections.

Government mouthpiece and NRM spokesperson Ofwono Opondo on the other hand wondered who has ever needed Kasumba to run for office.
