A CAF official has been confirmed dead after the violence that broke out amongst Nigerian fans following the World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Ghana.
The Nigerians were ousted by their neighbors after a 1-1 draw. The Ghanaians were able to go through on away goals rule following the 0-0 draw in Accra last week.
The Nigerians who have a mentality of being the Super powers in almost everything on the continet couldn’t contain the embarrassment.
They decided to storm the pitch and wreck havoc on it breaking the equipment and anyone they could find from the Opposing side.
Luckily the players and most of the officials had exited the playground back to the locker rooms.
It’s said that Joseph Kabungo a Zambian doctor was beaten by these rowdy fans until he became unconscious. Efforts to save him failed and he unfortunately passed away.
However, another source says that he succumbed to cardiac arrest. He had been complaining about being unwell since the morning of the game.
