MP Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda delivers his verdict on Hon Francis Zaake

FDC spokesperson who is also the Kiira Municipality MP Hon Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda has delivered his verdict on fellow legislator and Mityana Municipality MP Hon Francis Zaake.

Nganda says that although it wasn’t proper for Parliament to impeach Zaake the way it did, he still doesn’t feel he was the right candidate for the Commissioner of Parliament role.

He further says that as Opposition, they need to be careful in future while making such choices because some members are not fit for such roles.

” I don’t think Zaake’s case should even be talked about when we are looking at the decay in Parliament. The decorum of Parliament can’t be based on one case (Zaake’s).

In the future, we need to be very careful with people we send to the Parliamentary Commission. I like Zaake as an individual, but I don’t think he is most suitable to be a Commissioner,” Hon Ssemujju Nganda said while appearing on NBS TV’s Morning Breeze.

He further adds that NUP should not think of sending Zaake’s name again for the role since it’s what the rumors bear.

“I have heard my colleagues in

@NUP_Ug

say they’ll bring back Hon. Zaake’s name, it doesn’t work that way.”

The outspoken MP also says that he tried to go and apologise with the leader of Opposition Hon Mathias Mpuuga on behalf of Zaake but were turned down.

“Me and Hon.

@MathiasMpuuga

went to the Deputy Speaker of Parliament to plead for Hon. Zaake. She said the case was beyond her at that moment. It had been taken over by other people who feel for Parliament and her as an individual.”

Ssemujju however says that this is a critical moment for the LOP, Mathias Mpuuga to address.

According to Ssemujju, he trusts Mpuuga will be able to execute this crisis perfectly well.
