The media was filled with stories yesterday about the unexpected announcement from the army by the Commander of the Land Forces Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba through his Twitter page.
It’s said that after a meeting with the high Command, Gen Museveni has advised his son against quitting the Army at such an early age of 47.
Muhoozi had also last year threatened to leave the army if the required mobilization resources were not given to him to run the army effectively.
According to news from insiders, these funds were availed to him to construct the accommodation facilities for senior officers as well as general military headquarters in Bombo.
Besides, army retirement, it requires a soldier to apply through the army promotions and Commission board something Muhoozi hasn’t yet done.
Another thing is that at a rank of a General, one needs to seek advice from the Commander in chief to be given a green light over his desire to leave the army.
Further, its said that Gen Museveni wrote to the army council ordering them to retain Muhoozi as a serving Military officer.
Rumors had started flying on how Muhoozi had decided to focus on his alleged political aspirations including the Muhoozi project.
