An eye for an eye: NUP hits back at Nobert Mao

The National Unity Platform through it’s spokesperson Hon Joel Ssenyonyi has come out to mock DP president Nobert Mao in a reply to his attacks against the party.

Mao has in the past few days been unleashing verbal artillery against the Kamwokya based party leaders.

The DP president branded NUP as a Buganda tribalistic caucus that has the Kabaka Yekka mentality.

He also said that these are state sponsored and funded by the NRM only to hoodwink Ugandans from the real struggle.

Mao therefore vowed to fight and expose their hypocrisy and corrupt tendencies.

His attacks have been numerous through his Twitter page and he vowed not to stop until he sees them languishing on the floor in their lies.

However, Ssenyonyi who is the Nakawa West MP said that they don’t have time to donate to Mao.

This is because he’s devoted himself more to tweeting. He now has more tweets in the past few days than votes he garnered in his previous presidential standing .

Ssenyonyi also added that Mao might be under the influence of Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s compliments.

“Nobert Mao has had more tweets in the last two weeks than votes he had in the last General Election. That’s why I have restrained myself from commenting. The other issue could just be excitement from the praises from Mr. Museveni’s son,” Ssenyonyi said.

It should be noted that Muhoozi weeks ago through his Twitter page lavished compliments onto Nober Mao.

The Commander of the Land Forces said that Mao is the most intelligent Opposition leader in Uganda and besides he has presidential skills.

Therefore majority think that this was the catalyst that has had Mao launching verbal missiles against NUP and other Opposition figures.
