Bobi Wine Disappointed With World Bank’s Move To Grant Uganda 180 Million USD

The World Bank has provided a USD 180.3M grant for the Uganda COVID-19 response and emergency preparation project according to the reports from the Ministry of Health.

World Bank says that these funds will be used to procure vaccines for 11.7 people, improve the capacity to spur scale of disease surveillance as well as part of the finds to be used for improving infrastructure facilities.

However this has not gone well in the eyes of the National Unity Platform leader Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu who last week in the European Parliament asked foreign countries to stop giving funds to Uganda alleging that most of these funds disappear through corruption while others are used by the regime to brutalize the citizens of the country.

In the same house, EU MPs made it clear that they cannot stop sending funds to Uganda but rather tighten their eyes to make sure that the funds are used inappropriately.

Kyagulanyi believes if the government of Gen Museveni is weakened financially, it will bow down to the demands of the citizens thus leading to its collapse.

Kyagulanyi promised to fight tooth and nail to make sure he brings down the government of Gen Museveni who he accuses of rigging the 2021 election.
