Bobi Wine addresses European Parliament about increased human rights abuse in Uganda

The National Unity Platform leader Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine yesterday 8th February 2022 had the opportunity to address the European Parliament about the increased human rights abuse in Uganda.

The former presidential candidate who was in Brussels was in the company of his wife Barbara Itungo, NUP secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya and singer Nubian Li.

The singer turned politician met a faction of the RenewEurope who he addressed.

Among the topics he talked about was the human rights abuse in Uganda.

He asserted that the world should not just look on as Ugandans are being subjected to gruesome torture.

Kyagulanyi further stated that he discussed the human rights, development, Healthcare and other important aspects of the country.

Jan Christoph Oetjen one of the MPs who gave Kyagulanyi a warm reception said that his group will support the young politician to advance the plight of Ugandans’ rights

It should be recalled that the European union and the American embassy a few days ago released statements condemning the increased torture of Ugandans who come out to oppose the government.

A number of people have been abducted and tortured beyond recognition such as author Kakwenza Rukira and NUP Kasese coordinator Samuel Masereka.
