Video: Government denies torturing Kakwenza Rukira

The Government DPP Jane Frances Aboddo has come out to deny the government having a hand in the torture of author Kakwenza Rukira.

Aboddo said that the injuries Kakwenza has could have been got before he was arrested.

She added that there is no evidence to prove that he was tortured while in detention leading him to get these injuries.

Kakwenza is undergoing charges of disturbing the peace of President Museveni and his son Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

Kakwenza was arrested from his home in December after tweets that were deemed derogatory and offensive towards Museveni and Muhoozi.

He was denied bail several times while under detention and faced cruelty while under incarceration.

Kakwenza was however granted bail although his body is full of torture marks.
