Reverend Paul Ssemwogerere installed as the new Kampala Archbishop

The Most Reverend Paul Ssemwogerere has today been officially installed as the new Archbishop of Kampala diocese.

The ceremony happened today morning at Rubaga cathedral.

It was attended by a number of dignatries from different capacities.

Some were from the Central government, Buganda kingdom while others were from the Opposition.

These included the likes of NUP leader Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine
Vice President Jessica Alupo, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Anita Among, Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga, and Prince David Wasajja.

The Kampala streets leading to the cathedral have also been thronged by the Catholic faithfuls to welcome the new Archbishop.

Paul Ssemwogerere replaces the late Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga who shockingly and unfortunately passed away last year.

Ssemwogerere was appointed to this high ranking position by Pope Francis on 9 December 2021.

He previously served as the Bishop of Kasaana-Luweero from 2008-2021.
