Despite serving a government that he vehemently opposes, NUP leader Bobi Wine has come out to pay tribute to the late Governor for the Bank of Uganda, Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile .
Bobi Wine said that Mutebile was a distinguished economist who served Uganda in different capacities before rising to the role he died in.
Bobi Wine went ahead to say that Mutebile was a competent expert who was unfortunate just like many other distinguished Ugandans to serve under the corrupt regime.
Bobi Wine also said that for instance in 2011, Mutebile revealed how he was misled into funding the 2011 General election.
The former presidential candidate said that when public institutions are personalised, experts leading them such as Mutebile can never be devoid of such scandals.
Furthermore, Bobi Wine said that it’s unfortunate that the late Governor joined a long list of Ugandans who have died on foreign soil simply because the government has failed to uplift the health care standard in the country.
Mutebile’s pasing away was divulged to the public yesterday and it happened in Nairobi, Kenya.
He was aged 72 at the time of his death and lives behind a legacy that can be debatable depending on which angle someone decides to view it from.
