Andrew Muwonge swears in as Kayunga district LC V Chairperson

NRM’s Andrew Muwonge has swore in as the Kayunga district LC V Chairperson despite the controversy that has been surrounding his win.

Muwonge took his oath and will right away begin his duties.

His win in the recent polls was marred by a number of irregularities with NUP alleging that the ballot was rigged

NUP maintains that it won the election with over 15000 votes.

The party even plans to head to court to challenge the outcomes of the election which it described as “an abuse of democracy by President Museveni.”

However in a recent press conference, NRM’S Secretary General Richard Todwong said that the party won the election.

He also said that in the residual local council elections, NRM overwhelmingly won with over 82%.
