I cannot dictate the future of my children- Bobi Wine

Ugandan singer turned politician Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine has come out to reveal that he cannot dictate the lives of his children and the career paths they choose.

Bobi Wine made the remarks after two of kids appeared at the recent Buzz Teenz Awards.

His eldest son Solomon Kampala bagged an award of the Teenz Fashion Star category.

His daughter Shallom Namagembe mimed his By Far song which wowed the crowds.

Questioned whether he would be okay with his children walking into his footsteps, Kyagulanyi said that he will be glad with whatever his kids decide to do.

The singer said that his role is to support and guide them in what they choose as long as it’s not embarrassing.

He cited himself as an example of not becoming what his parents wished him to become.

“Well my children are free to do anything they want. My role as a parent is to guide and groom them along the right path so that they don’t do anything that will embarrass them, the family or their nation. For instance my father wanted me to be a doctor and my mother wanted me as a lawyer. I however didn’t do so although I went back to school to pursue law in memory of my mother. So I will be happy in whichever path they choose to follow,” Bobi Wine said.

The Firebase president shares 4 children together with his wife Barbara Itungo.

The couple is adored by many and also inspires millions because of the humility exhibited by them and their children despite the fame.
