We are ready to defend our Kayunga victory in Court-NRM

The NRM has come out to assert that NUP should stop shedding crocodile tears and concede defeat in the recent Kayunga district LC V by election.

The party’s Director of legal affairs, Oscar Kihika says that they are well aware of NUP’s intentions to run to court but they are also prepared with enough evidence to defend their victory.

Oscar also said that they were a bit disturbed by Police’s behavior in the recent Kayunga poll.

He says that at one time the Force behaved like they were campaigning for the Opposition.

“We have been notified about the court case and we are ready to defend the victory that the NRM registered in Kayunga.

We were a bit disturbed by some instances in which Police behaved in a funny way, we actually got thoughts that they were campaigning for our opponents,” Kihika said.

NRM trounced NUP in the election in a somehow miraculous way that surprised almost everyone that closely followed the election right from the campaigns.

NUP leader Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine was house arrested and prevented from going to campaign in the area because it was the same day that NRM’S Yoweri Kaguta Museveni went to campaign for Andrew Muwonge.

The election itself was marred by violence and allegations of ballot stuffing.

The Electoral Commission exceeded the expected time of announcing the results but after the announcement, many were left shocked.

This was after the NRM candidate won by 450 votes while NUP maintains that it won the election with over 15,000 votes.
