More Security Beefed Up At Bobi Wine’s Home

Opposition politician and NUP president Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine has come out to say that more security has been illegally added at his home in Magere.

Kyagulanyi who was supposed to appear in Kayunga district yesterday to campaign for the NUP flag bearer, Nakweede Harriet Kafeero was placed under house arrest and barred from moving.

Meanwhile NRM’s chairman Yoweri Kaguta Museveni managed to go to the district to campaign for the party flag bearer Andrew Muwonge.

Kyagulanyi expressed his disappointment in the foul play by the regime on keeping him under house arrest as Museveni goes to campaign for his candidate.

There was also chaos yesterday in Kayunga as tear gas and rubber bullets were unleashed on the NUP supporters who Police said were becoming rowdy.

This chaos saw Mityana Municipality MP Hon Francis Zaake who has been a victim of security brutality in the past head back to the same ordeals of being brutalized.

The NUP flag bearer Harriet Nakweede was also injured in this scuffle and sustained head injuries.

Other Opposition leaders such as Mugisha Muntu and Kiiza Besigye also came out to condemn these unlawful attacks on NUP supporters and the illegal detention of Kyagulanyi.

Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga however revealed that no one had stopped Kyagulanyi from campaigning for his candidate.

He was however given a date of 10th December to campaign for the NUP flag bearer which he didn’t adhere to.

They therefore had to stop him from disrupting the day which was allocated to the NRM which was yesterday.

The election is slated for 16th December 2021.
