Bobi Wine applauds Twitter for banning NRM accounts

Former presidential candidate Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine has come out to applaud social media platform Twitter for deactivating over 400 accounts belonging to NRM’s propagandists.

Kyagulanyi says that President Museveni hired these propagandists to promote his ‘shameless regime of blood and shame.”

These went ahead to attack Museveni’s opponents by branding them foreign agents.

Kyagulanyi added that the case was with Facebook but the app disabled hundreds of NRM propagandists which prompted Government to ban Facebook till to date.

“On the eve of elections, Facebook detected and removed several such accounts, prompting Museveni to ban Facebook in Uganda to date. Very glad to see that Twitter has taken a similar step and we hope the dictator will now not ban twitter as well.”

Bobi Wine adds that the current regime has been built on propaganda of soiling the opponents names.

Kyagulanyi furthermore says that Museveni will follow the same route as his fellow dictators that have for long imposed themselves on people.

“Museveni’s regime has been built on lies and propaganda- any effort to expose and stop them is to be hailed. Like all despots, whatever schemes he uses to illegally impose himself on the people of Uganda will finally be exposed and will certainly fail.”

Twitter this week announced how it had deactivated over 3,464 accounts in Russia, China, Tanzania, Uganda, Mexico, and Venezuela used to perform state-linked operations.

In Uganda, 418 pro Museveni Twitter accounts were wiped off the blue bird app.
