Ssegirinya who was arrested and remanded to prison alongside Makindye West Mp Allan Ssewanyana had spent close to three months behind bars.

His application for bail alongside Ssewanyana has been rejected by Court a number of times.

Despite presenting his rotting foot and requesting for advanced medical attention weeks ago, Ssegirinya’s plea was denied.

He was at even one time rushed to Mulago hospital in a critical condition after he collapsed in prison.

Ssegirinya’s release comes at a time after his mother stormed Parliament yesterday crying and pleading for her son to be released.

She had earlier on pleaded to President Museveni to let her son be released because he’s her only breadwinner and she was suffering without him.

With Ssegirinya out, his colleague, Allan Ssewanyana’s fate awaits to be seen if he will also be granted bail.

The two MPs were arrested on allegations that they had masterminded the August-September Masaka machete killings.
