The National Resistance Movement Electoral Commission Chairperson Dr Tanga Odoi has already declared who will hold the party flag in the 2026 presidential election.
While in Kayunga district on the party’s mobilization exercises, Dr Tanga Odoi said that without a doubt Gen Museveni will be the party’s flag bearer as no one will compete against him.
“I’m speaking with authority as the EC chairperson of the party. Gen Museveni is going to be the flag bearer. If you feel he is not worth, come and compete but you will not win. We cannot bench our best player,” Odoi said.
He also trashed the rumors that have making rounds that Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Museveni’s son is going contest for the presidency.
Odoi says that Muhoozi is free to come but he can only come after 2026 because Museveni is still around.
Odoi further ascertained his stance while appearing on the NBS Morning Breeze today 16th November 2021.
“I told the NRM leaders that we should concentrate on what we can do other than the fact that Museveni must go. The president has just been voted into power and he is still here, today, tomorrow and even 2026,” Odoi said.
