First son and Commander of the Land Forces Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba over the weekend got entangled in a Twitter spat with the UNAIDS director and opposition leader Kiiza Besigye’s wife, Winnie Byanyima.
Byanyima took to her Twitter page to tell the first son to delete one of his tweets that he made earlier about the ongoing Ethiopian crisis.
This was after Muhoozi took to his Twitter page to side with the Tigrayan fighters in Eithiopia.
The first son said said that he supports the Rebel’s cause and those who committed atrocities on the Tigrayans must pay for them.
Byanyima however said this was an insensitive and dangerous tweet that could endanger lives of Ugandans living and working in Ethiopia.
Please delete this tweet. It is risking the lives of Ugandans working and living in Ethiopia. https://t.co/KIZObi2dC8— Winnie Byanyima (@Winnie_Byanyima) November 7, 2021
Muhoozi however didn’t entertain this as he said that it’s the role of the Ethiopian government to secure the safety of the people within it’s jurisdiction.
He also went on a personal reply to Byanyima saying that it was long since he last saw her.
The military general has on several occasions gone on a Twitter rampage with some of his followers questioning the lack of sensitivity in is tweets.
Muhoozi however has not shied away from the fact that he strongly supports the Tigrayans rebel against the Ethiopian government.
