Video: Drama in Parliament as Gen Kahinda Otafire is accused of wearing a curtain

Uganda’s Parliament is one that can at times become an amusement park due to the unending drama from the honorable members.

There was drama in the August House as Kampala Central MP Hon Muhammad Nsereko accused Gen Kahinda Otafire of breaching the dress code of Parliament by wearing a shirt like curtain.

Nsereko added that this was about to bring about commotion in the House.

Otafire who is the Minister of Internal Affairs however defended himself saying his shirt is Mandela like.

Deputy speaker Hon Anita Among came to Gen Otafire’s defence saying that his shirt is African wear which is permitted in the Chambers.

Tororo woman mp Hon Sarah Opendi however said that a Mandela like shirt should be worn buttoned up all the way.

The deputy speaker then asked Hon Sarah to go and help Gen Otafire button up his shirt to which she excitedly rushed to do.
