National Unity Platform president Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has come out to reveal how his comrade and fellow party member Hon Muhammad Ssegirinya is in great pain.
This was after the former presidential candidate in the company of NUP’s spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi and the secretary general David Lewis Rubongoya visited the Kawempe North Mp at Mulago hospital.
Bobi Wine said that besides the pain, Ssegirinya has constantly been threatened by security operatives.
These have told him to apologise to President Museveni if he wants his freedom back.
“Visited Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya at Mulago Hospital to ascertain his state of health and give him moral support. He’s in great pain. He told us regime apologists and operatives have been frequenting him asking him to apologise to Gen. Museveni on camera if he wants his freedom!,” Bobi Wine said.
Ssegirinya was sent to Kitalya prison alongside Allan Ssewanyana over allegations that they masterminded the Masaka murders a few months ago.
These have been constantly denied bail despite numerous petitions.
Gen Museveni recently revealed plans to have bail removed for capital offences.
Ssegirinya meanwhile showed off his rotting foot in court via zoom a few weeks ago and pleaded to have him released to attain advanced medical attention.
This was however denied and he was taken back to his prison cell.
He was however rushed to Mulago hospital this week in critical condition.
