Reshuffles in the Military by President Museveni Amidst Bomb Scares

President Museveni has made a few reshuffles in the military as revealed by the Commander of the Land Forces Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

Museveni who is the Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces named Maj Gen Don Nabaasa as the new Commander of the Military Police.

Nabaasa has been a contingent commander in the AMISOM the peace keeping force in Somalia.

His appointment and deployment has come at a time when there is a looming security crisis in the country.

This is after two bomb blasts in successive days that have claimed a number of lives while injuring others.

Consequently, Brig Keith Katungi who has been the commander of the Military Police will replace Maj Gen Don Nabaasa as the leader of the AMISOM contingent in Somalia.

Lt Col Ronald Kakulungu the deputy defense spokesperson also confirmed this change in guards.

“Yes, it is true the officers have been transferred but the details of the transfer shall be availed soon,” Kakulungu said.
