Islamist militant terrorist group ISIS has claimed responsibility for the bomb blast that took place in Komamboga a Kampala suburb.
This killed a number of people and injured others.
According to global news agency Reuters, the ISIS through an affiliated Telegram channel said that some of it’s members had planted the bomb at Digida pork joint.
The group said that some of its members detonated an explosive device in a bar where “members and spies of the Crusader Ugandan government were gathering” in Kampala.
Police however has denied these claims saying that this is an internal act of terrorism.
Meanwhile President Museveni has called upon the public to be so vigilant.
He added that despite the casualties breaking the COVID 19 Sop’s, the terror meted out on them has to be dealt with.
He also promised those who are working from outside the country to destabilize the peace that they will be dealt with mercilessly.
“With those operating outside Uganda, we shall work with the brother African countries, to go for them. Let their supporters, then, not start shouting that we are hunting innocent people.” Museveni tweeted.
