NUP social media propagandist Fred Kajjubi Lumbuye was finally freed from a Turkish detention centre where he had been incarcerated for almost three months.
As reports circulated months ago by government that Lumbuye was to be extradited back to Uganda to face his charges, NUP said that he will only return when he wishes to do so.
The remarks were made NUP shadow minister on legal affairs and Kyadondo east legislator Muwadda Nkunyinji.
Nkunyinji added that he doesn’t know if Lumvuye will keep spitting fire but they are sure he will always stand by the values he believes in.
“We are glad that Lumbuye has finally been freed and his rights asserted. He will not to Uganda through force but by his own terms. I don’t know if he will continue with his works but he will keep standing for what he believes is right. Those who follow him on social media should wait for him,” Muwadda who was part of the legal team that hunted for Lumbuye’s whereabouts said.
Lumbuye however who calls himself Chemical Ali has vowed to start from where he stopped on attacking and exposing President Museveni’s ‘autocratic filth government.’
The blogger said that he’s in high spirits and has continued to gather information about the government even when he has been under illegal detention.
He also thanked the hundreds of people that have been fighting to see him freed and he won’t disappoint them in the struggle to oust President Museveni.
Lumbuye had been arrested by the Turkish authorities over the expiry of his Visa stay in the country with also rumors that were later confirmed as fake spreading that the Ugandan government had connived with the Turkish authorities to deport him back to hand him over to the government.
