Fresh Investigations in the death of Gen Paul Lokech ongoing – Fred Enanga

Police Spokesperson Feed Enanga has revealed how there are fresh investigations ongoing in the death of Lt Gen Paul Lokech who was the deputy IGP by the time of his death.

The Somalia war hero who was known as the Lion of Mogadishu passed away on the 21st of August 2021.

A death report confirmed that he had succumbed to a blood clot that he had gotten from a fracture in the right ankle joint.

However due to the pressure from the leaders in Acholi subregion, the IGP Martin Okoth Ochola had instructed for fresh investigations to see if there was foul play in the death.

“The IGP came with a directive for further investigations to be conducted simply because local politicians from Acholi like the MPs from the area were not convinced. It’s against this background that the investigation was instituted,” Enanga addressed the media.

Enanga added that the earlier autopsy will be based upon to come up with a crystal clear report to dust away any doubts concerning the General’s death

“It was conducted so that we can come up with a clear picture to clear the doubts being presented by the Acholi community when we went for burial,” he added.

Enanga also rubbished the allegations that this investigation was to see if there was poisoning arising from work related wrangles which could have cut shot Gen Lokech’s life.

“The postmortem report clearly indicated that Lt Gen Paul Lockech died of a blood clot. The postmortem was carried out by four pathologists in addition to the director of Medical Services in the UPDF, the personal doctor to the deceased and two family members. In total, 8 people were present during the medical examination and findings were clear of how the blood clot arose. These wild imaginations are simply baseless rumors,” the Police spokesperson further said.
