Museveni unhappy with according Murder Suspects bail

President Museveni has once again come out to show his distaste for the way murder suspects are accorded bail hurriedly.

Museveni through his Twitter page said that giving bail to someone who has murdered a person is abominable and a provocation.

He then added that he’s going to summon the NRM caucus and have this topic debated on and if necessary put up for a referendum.

This is not the first the President is expressing his dislike for giving bail to suspects especially those in for heavy criminal charges.

Gen Museveni prefers the suspect behind bars as the security forces carry out their investigations.

This follows the bail applications for Kawempe North and Makindye West MPS Muhammad Ssegirinya and Allam Ssewanyana which were approved by the Masaka High Court.

The pair were arrested over a fortnight ago over claims of being the masterminds behind the Masaka killings.

However, security declined to release them even after being ordered by Court to do so on Monday.

Hon Ssewanyana was captured by security armed men in the infamous drone cars as he made his way out of Kigo prison.

Ssegirinya continues to languish behind bars as his surety, Mityana MP Francis Zaake failed to show up since he had travelled to the US.
