Kawempe North Member of Parliament Hon Muhammad Ssegirinya has come out to decry the heavy security deployment at his home.

The legislator wondered why there was security camping at his place yet he was just summoned for a police statement.

“You summoned me with a police statement… now, what is the aim of deployment at my home?” Ssegirinya tweeted.

This comes after the MP yesterday was served with a police notice summoning him to Masaka police station to record a statement on Monda 6th September 2021 in regards to the killings in Greater Masaka.

“The Directorate of Criminal Investigations is investigating some murders that took place in Greater Masaka during the months of July and August 2021.

This serves as a summon for you to appear at Masaka Police Station on Monday 6th September 2021 at 1000 hours before D/SSP Moses Taremwa for a statement in respect to the said investigations.” The summon read.

The same summons was served to Makindye East Opposition MP Hon Allan Ssewanyana in regards to the same matter.

The public is however confused on how these two are connected to the murders but investigations will have to be awaited to give answers.

NUP came out to lash out at the government for trying to politicize these murders after minister Chris Baryomunsi said that the murders were instigated by political sentiments a statement that was reechoed by his boss President Museveni.

These say that the murders are a move by some opposition politicians to make the population feel less confident about their security in the NRM Government.
