National Unity Platform (NUP) president Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu also known as Bobi Wine has come out to say that he’s doing everything in his power to overthrow President Museveni to whom he refers as a dictator. Kyagulanyi made the comments while appearing on BBS TV on the 18th of August 2021.
“Whatever I’m doing right now is bent on unseating the dictator. Whenever I travel abroad, I’m on missions to cut the veins that supply aid to Museveni’s regime.” Hon Kyagulanyi said.
He also added that the more President Museveni keeps ruling Uganda the more the country lags behind.
In his own words, Kyagulanyi said that “when Museveni rules us one year, we lag backwards 5 years and if he rules us one month we still lag behind 5 months.”
The former Kyadondo east legislator also tasked people to believe in the ability of the MPs and local leaders especially those from NUP.
Kyagulanyi said that people should demand these leaders good leadership and not him instead.
The singer turned politician also took time off to congratulate the people of Zambia for electing an opposition president.
He however congratulated the outgoing Zambian president Edgar Lungu who he said is a winner too because it’s very rare for a sitting African President to concede defeat through an election.
Kyagulanyi wasn’t done attacking his political rival Gen Museveni who he accused of high levels of hypocrisy.
The former presidential candidate said that Mr Museveni is the type of person who sends people to kill you and then come to sympathize with you.
He also wondered why he cannot arrest the violators of human rights instead of coming out on national TV’s to show he’s concerned yet he knows them very well.
On being accused of conspiring with Western governments, Kyagulanyi said that the impending arrival of over 2000 Afghan refugees only shows that it’s Museveni who works with the white people.
“Bringing Afghan refugees to Uganda only shows that Museveni dances on the tunes of the whites. Where do you think is nearer to take the Afghan refugees between Uganda and America. You will find it’s nearer to take them to America than flying them to Uganda.” Kyagulanyi said.
This was after the US persuasion of Uganda to provide refugee to some Afghan refugees who are fleeing the country after the Taliban takeover of the country.
