Fred Lumbuye gets breather In His Turkey Detention

Yesterday saw the arrest of social media and NUP propagandist Fred Lumbuye Kajjubi in Turkey.

Lumbuye who had made Turkey his base to ferociously attack the Ugandan government with a barrage of accusations was taken into custody in what NUP described as a kidnap.

The Minister of External affairs Henry Okello Oryem came out and said that it was right for Lumbuye to be arrested since no one is above the law.

A lot of NUP officials came out to demand for the release of Lumbuye including the party president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu.

These said that it was a fundamental right for Ugandans to have divergent political views irrespective of where they are and should not be persecuted for it.

It was however feared that Lumbuye could be extradited back to Uganda where he would fall at the hands of the government he’s been criticising so much.

This is something that worried NUP officials and their supporters.

However, Kawmpe north MP Muhammad Ssegirinya announced that Lumbye won’t be deported back to Uganda but will rather face his charges from Istanbul.

Ssegirinya went ahead to say this was a result of people pressure.

“GOOD NEWS:
@LumbuyeFredk
WILL NOT BE DEPORTED TO UGANDA…. THANKS FOR THE PRESSURE COMRADES.” Ssegirinya tweeted.

Numerous reports have been circulating how it was Ugandan ESO operatives who trailed, tracked and arrested Lumbuye.

Another report however says Lumbuye’s arrest has nothing to do with the Ugandan security intelligence but rather his mischiefs in Turkey.

Lumbuye had on numerous times thrown Ugandan social media circles into shock with his often deemed poisonous information.
